The swordsmiths of the Kimura Clan belong to the established members of the "All Japanese Swordsmiths Society". In recent contests the Kimuras were highly ranked. This Katana is a real art sword and a good example for the ability of today´s japanese smiths. Mr. Kimura is known for his well made blades.  A decent item to ad to your collection!

Ta001: WK II Tachi by "Koide Yoshimune" 1944

Ura: Bishu Ju Koide Yoshimune Saku Kore.

Traditionally forged WWII japanese Tachi. Koide Yoshimune was working as swordsmith for the japanese military. He is listed in the "Rikugun Jumei Tosho Meibo" of 1933. He participated in contests like the "Rikugun Gunto Gijutsu Shoreikai Nyusen". The above sword comes with WWII mountings. The blade has a good balance, there are litle patches of surface corrosion and features aesthetic Kizu. A nice blade for those who are loocking for a tameshigiri sword. Would be a good deal for remounting and a new polish.
